About the ITP

As early as 1980, the Institute of Training Professionals was originally set up as the Hong Kong branch of the UK’s long-established Institute of Training & Development (“ITD”). It became independent in 1996 and was then renamed as “Institute of Training Professionals”. Being the sole local professional body in training & development (“T&D”), the Institute of Training Professionals (“ITP”) aims to promote the interests of T&D practitioners while simultaneously striving to enhance the sector’s professional standards and practices. Previously it has developed the key industry reference through publishing the “Managing Training & Development, Hong Kong” Manual with CCH, while the latest initiative (2014) is in setting up the Certified Trainer Scheme (“CTS”) modeled after the HKSAR’s Qualifications Framework (資歷架構).

The Institute’s Individual Members mainly come from the human resources (“HR”) and T&D sectors. They include HR/training directors/managers/officers, management consultants, university professors/lecturers, students of tertiary educational institutions as well as other interested parties. Membership categories include Fellow, Member, Associate Member, Affiliate Member, and Student Member. Companies or organizations can join as Corporate Members. Annually ITP invites seasoned professionals to conduct value-added forums and seminars on current topics as well as useful training courses for members and the related sectors. It has collaborated with established organizations such as Hong Kong Productivity Council, Trade & Industry Department, Employees Retraining Board, etc., in addition to various professional bodies, universities, and educational institutes.

Unlock New China during the COVID era

Entering the Chinese market takes time and extensive research as well as a deep understanding of consumer insights, trends, and local behaviors. Engaging in all these activities may be expensive and impossible for small to medium-sized businesses around the world. With the added constraints of COVID-19, finding an efficient and cost-effective solution is vital to unlocking the potential of the Chinese market. However, finding partners that can digest both the international and local Chinese perspectives can be hard and risky.

Under the goal of connecting global cultures to the Chinese youth, Shake to Win has been facilitating China market access for SMEs, cultural organizations, as well as public institutions from all over the world, building commercial and emotional bridges between distinct nations and helping Chinese consumers to reach the most unique places, products, and people. We offer an extensive range of services including localization, social media, online marketing, offline campaigns, e-commerce, and more, leaving you to focus on your business without the need to learn Chinese from your local destination.
