While China is recovering from the COD-VID 19 crisis quickly, part of the world is only slowly reactivating activity in the cities. Since this means that travel is still restricted and will be for while at Shake to Win we continue to allow Chinese young travellers to travel virtually interesting destinations in the world. The Bhutan Soul Tour and travel company share with us the top destinations and most beautiful hikes to iconic landmarks in Bhutan. Virtually we travelled to :

Taktsang Monastery (Tiger Nest)

Bhutan, the land of the Thunder Dragon, and one of the happiest countries in the World. Our first stop was The Taktsang Monastery or Tiger Nest only 1 hour and halfway from Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

Located on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley, there is no doubt that this is one of the wonders of Bhutan, even after suffering a fire in 1998 and following restoration, it still preserves its original soul. Considered one of the most sacred sites in Bhutan, legend says that in 746 A.D the Indian saint, Guru Padma Sambhava, flew from Tibet on the back of a tigress to tame five demons, to spread Buddhism in Bhutan. Marking the origin of its name, Taktsang, or “Tiger’s lair, nest.”

Namgyel Chorten

Standing on a ridge in the Phunaka Valley was our second destination, the Namgyel Chorten. This unique Chorten was built by the Queen Mother to bring spiritual protection against evil spirits and bring peace and harmony to the world.

The visitor won’t regret hiking to the top of the hill to appreciate the stunning views of the local architecture combined in harmony with the valley below. On their way to the hill, hikers will pass through a pine forest to numerous paddy fields. We highly recommend hiking during the harvest season to enjoy a beautiful scenic view of the valley, all combined by terraces and irrigation channels which make this trail unique!

From the traditional industry perspectives, we think that offline events/ trade-shows are always the best way to sell, however, have you ever considered that the first step of the consumer journey can start somewhere online? It is great to see the motivation behind, and the pandemic validates the value we provided.

Phobjikha Valley

Ending the virtual trip with a beautiful “virtual” sunset in the Phobjikha Valley.

The Phobjikha Valley in central Bhutan is a glacial valley located at about 3,000 meters of altitude. This open marshland is well known for its wildlife diversity: red foxes, leopards, wild boars, and the Himalayan black bears. It is also home the endangered black-necked crane that flies here every winter before returning to Tibet and Mongolia in early spring.

Phobjikha valley is one of the most idyllic places in Bhutan and highly recommended for hiking, as well as meditation. The 16th-century Gangtey monastery built on a ridge overlooking the valley has small guesthouses and meditation centres open for tourists. Do not miss the annual Crane Festival organized by the community to raise awareness for the conservation of the ecosystem.

At the end of our virtual tour on Weibo we had brought together 245,600 Virtual Chinese travellers that engaged, shared and liked the destinations over 600 times, connecting you millennial Chinese travellers to the one and only Bhutan, partnered with Bhutan Souls Tour and Travel, we are sure many of them will be considering going as soon as travelling measures loosen.

By running the six weeks campaigns of #Travelfromhome, we learnt a lot from the consumer data from our Weibo and WeChat backend data analytic reporting service we subscribed. It helps us to understand more about the favorability of our partners’ products, does it works in China? And also what category of businesses gain more interest among our TA group and further we can revise our content strategy and approach and create more value for our partners who subscribed our SaaS platform, click here to see our special pricing.
