We are proud to announce that the Bhutan Soul Tour and Travel Organization (BST&T) trusted us and, through the acquisition of the Access package, it is now a member of our family of tour operators working hard to maintain the sector alive.

At the foothill of the chain of mountains describe by ancient Sanskrit texts as: “Where the snow (Himá) dwells (ā-laya), the Himalayas…”, people will find the Kingdom of Bhutan, just between the People’s Republic of China in the north and the Republic of India in the south.

The Bhutanese like to refer to their country as Druk Yul: Land of the Thunder Dragon and the existence of ancient route between India and Tibet through the Kingdom of Bhutan is believed to have encouraged many Buddhist saints from Tibet to travel through modern-day Bhutan spreading Buddhism. Bhutan has remained a country where age-old customs and traditions are still part of the everyday lives of the people, even though globalization and modernity are felt more and more each day.

The richness in history and culture of this beautiful land makes it an exciting attraction for tourists that want to submerge in the traditions of Bhutan. Still, due to the current crisis, many touristic organizations have felt short in connecting with their target audience to promote bookings and visits.

In the face of cancellations and failed deals, Our Founder and CEO, Emily Cheung, and one of our Market Expansion Manager, Laura Machuca, introduced the Shake to Win technological solution in a demo meeting to the Bhutan Soul Tour and Travel Organization in the desire to continue to unlock and promote unique touristic experiences and destinations.

Shake to Win had the opportunity to talk to Langa Dorji, CEO of BST&T, about their experience with us in this new partnership, and this is what they had to say:

Using three words, how would you describe the Shake to Win App and the team?

LD: Prompt, friendly and willing to cooperate.

What are the top 5 places you would recommend to Chinese travellers that want to visit Bhutan and why?

LD: Thimphu, Paro, Punakha, Phobjikhaand Bumthang are the top 5 places we would like to recommend Chinese travellers to visit in Bhutan since they include the most popular festivals in Bhutan and travellers can experience both urban and rural areas of Bhutan.

How were your experiences subscribing to our digital platform? Was our team helpful?

LD: Subscribing to the Access package was quite easy after receiving helpful indications form Emily and Laura on how to do it.

Would you recommend Shake to Win to other users? Why?

LD: We shall certainly recommend if anyone seeks our advice because the Chinese touristic market is the biggest one in the world.

Langa Dorji also made a call to action from the leaders of the tourism industries to offer suggestions and provide feedback in front of the global crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He prompted them to influence presidents, prime ministers and kings in taking measures to contain the spread of the virus in an effort that will later permit people to enjoy tourism once more.

In an open dialogue that we at Shake to Win had with Langa Dorji, the desire to closely cooperate and collaborate to tap the potential of the Chinese market was mention. The organization would be more than satisfied if, by working together, we can generate 500 Chinese clients annually to visit and experience the Land of the Thunder Dragon and what it has to offer.
